Main requirements: BSc/MSc in a relevant engineering discipline, 3+ years of experience, CADMATIC or comparable 3D CAD software, piping and technical arrangement engineering, English proficiency.
Jouw uitdaging
As a Piping & Arrangement Engineer – CADMATIC, you will contribute to the development of complex naval vessels, combining piping engineering with the integration of mechanical equipment and technical spaces.
You will translate technical requirements into practical 3D engineering solutions, ensuring that piping systems, equipment and their surrounding spaces are properly integrated into the vessel. Your work will consider not only technical functionality, but also accessibility, maintainability, ergonomics and operational safety.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will develop and review designs, resolve integration challenges and contribute to the technical quality and feasibility of the overall ship design.
Wat je gaat doen

Develop and optimise 3D designs of piping systems, mechanical equipment and technical spaces using CADMATIC.

Translate technical specifications and system requirements into practical and feasible engineering solutions.

Develop basic engineering packages, including 3D models, technical drawings and production information.

Ensure the correct integration of piping systems, equipment and components, considering interfaces with other engineering disciplines.

Optimise technical arrangements with regard to accessibility, maintainability, ergonomics, installation requirements and safety.

Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews, identify potential clashes and propose technical improvements.

Coordinate with system specialists, safety engineers, procurement, production and external engineering partners.

Review engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, technical standards and project requirements.

Contribute to resolving design challenges and improving engineering processes and solutions.

You will join a leading Dutch developer and builder of advanced naval vessels and marine defence systems. The organisation specialises in designing, engineering and constructing technologically complex ships for international clients.
You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering department alongside specialists in mechanical systems, technical arrangements, safety and other disciplines. The environment offers exposure to technically challenging projects, where engineering integration, practical design solutions and collaboration are essential.
This opportunity concerns a temporary engineering assignment within a professional and international shipbuilding environment.
Wat je meebrengt

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.

At least 3 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within shipbuilding, offshore or another complex maritime environment.

Hands-on experience with CADMATIC or comparable 2D/3D CAD software.

Experience in piping design, equipment integration and technical arrangements within a 3D engineering environment.

Understanding of mechanical systems and their interfaces with other shipboard disciplines.

Ability to assess designs with regard to functionality, accessibility, maintainability, ergonomics and safety.

Experience working on complex engineering projects, preferably involving technologically advanced vessels.

Good communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Good command of English, both written and spoken. Dutch is considered an advantage.
