Jouw uitdaging
As a Manufacturing Engineer Mechanical Tooling & Equipment, you will be a key player in the engineering, design, and delivery of specialized mechanical tooling and handling equipment that enable the safe, precise, and efficient construction of complex naval vessels. You will be responsible for developing innovative lifting, hoisting, and alignment solutions—such as jigs, frames, and positioning tools—used to transport and assemble large sections and modules.
Your expertise will cover the entire lifecycle, from conceptual design and calculation, through manufacturing support, to on-site implementation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring that your tooling solutions meet operational, safety, and quality standards while enabling smooth production workflows.
Wat je gaat doen
- Design and engineer mechanical tooling for lifting, hoisting, transporting, and aligning ship sections and components.
- Prepare detailed production drawings, calculations, and specifications for tooling fabrication.
- Develop hoisting and lifting plans, including transport drawings for sections, rings, and modules.
- Conduct risk assessments (RI&E) for tooling-related operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, production teams, and other engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical support during the execution of hoisting and transport activities, validating tooling performance.
- Integrate tooling solutions into project workflows in collaboration with structural and manufacturing engineers.

Wat je meebrengt
- BSc. or MSc, degree in Mechanical Engineering or Shipbuilding.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, tooling development, and operational engineering support.
- Background in heavy industry, shipbuilding, or large-scale manufacturing.
- Familiarity with lifting and hoisting equipment, design calculations, and safety standards.
- Permanent EU citizenship (required due to the military nature of the project)
- Ability to provide excellent references and pass security screening.
