Jouw uitdaging

As a Lead Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in translating complex customer requirements into practical technical and commercial solutions within the maritime industry. Working on projects ranging from naval vessels to offshore installations and superyachts, you will combine engineering knowledge with commercial insight to develop competitive proposals for electrical and automation systems.

In addition to your technical contribution, you will provide functional leadership to the Sales Engineering team. You will coordinate daily activities, guide colleagues, and ensure that quotations, cost calculations, and technical proposals are delivered with high quality and consistency. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, business development, and team leadership within an international maritime environment. You will report to the Manager Sales.

Wat je gaat doen

  • Translate customer requirements into technical and commercial solutions for maritime electrical and automation systems
  • Prepare detailed cost calculations and quotations for newbuild, service, and conversion projects
  • Collect and analyse technical information to develop accurate and competitive proposals
  • Work closely with Account Managers and engineering teams to ensure proposals match client expectations and project requirements
  • Coordinate quotation processes and ensure timely delivery of proposals to customers
  • Provide functional leadership to the Sales Engineering team, assigning tasks and guiding colleagues
  • Monitor and improve the quality of quotations, processes, and technical documentation
  • Support the development and growth of the Sales Engineering team through coaching and knowledge sharing

You will work in a maritime engineering environment involved in the design of advanced vessels such as superyachts, naval ships, and offshore vessels. Engineering teams are involved throughout the design phase, combining strong technical expertise with a focus on sustainability and innovation.

Wat je meebrengt

  • Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in preparing technical quotations and cost calculations independently
  • Experienced in a technical environment, preferably within maritime, naval, or offshore industries
  • Familiarity with the naval segment and its technical requirements
  • Experience with functional team leadership or coordination
  • Ability to analyse complex customer requests and translate them into practical solutions
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)
  • A proactive, confident, and collaborative working style
