Projects: Custom and semi-custom luxury yachts in the 60–70 metre range, mainly steel-built.

Company: Leading Dutch yacht builder with integrated engineering and shipyard facilities.

Main requirements: Yachtbuilding engineering experience, strong understanding of shipbuilding production processes, and ability to coordinate technical documentation, planning, and suppliers.

Your opportunity

As a Yacht Production Engineer, you will play a central role in preparing the technical foundation for the construction of high-end luxury yachts. You will ensure that engineering designs are translated into clear, complete, and build-ready production packages.

Working closely with Project Leaders and Draftsmen, you will support the preparation and coordination of hull construction, outfitting, and exterior structures. You will help ensure that all technical documentation is correct, complete, and aligned with the demanding standards of the luxury yacht industry.

This position sits at the intersection of Engineering, Production, and Purchasing. You will help manage the flow of technical information between departments and ensure that materials, planning, and documentation are ready for the construction phase.

Each yacht project is unique, which means you will be exposed to a wide range of technical challenges. It is an ideal role for someone who enjoys coordinating complex engineering projects and contributing to the successful delivery of world-class yachts.

What you will do

  • Prepare and coordinate production packages based on engineering drawings and design documentation
  • Support Project Leaders in managing planning, budgets, and technical preparation for yacht construction
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure alignment with engineering designs
  • Verify that technical drawings and documentation meet shipbuilding standards and internal quality requirements
  • Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to ensure materials meet specifications and are delivered on time
  • Act as the link between Project Leaders and Draftsmen, supporting the planning and distribution of engineering work
  • Ensure compliance with class and flag requirements during the technical preparation phase
  • Support the overall construction process by ensuring production teams receive accurate and complete technical documentation

Where you will work

Would you like to work in a high-end yachtbuilding environment where engineering and production are closely connected? This opportunity places you in a technically strong shipbuilding team working on luxury yachts built to extremely high standards.

You will be part of a shipbuilding engineering environment where customisation, technical quality, and collaboration are central. The team works closely with the shipyard, which means your designs are not created in isolation but directly linked to the build process.

  • High-end custom and semi-custom yacht projects
  • Strong integration between engineering and shipyard operations
  • Focus on practical, buildable technical solutions
  • International and collaborative team environment
  • Excellent exposure to the full yacht construction process

What you already have

  • BSc degree in Shipbuilding Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field with at least three years of relevant experience
  • Experience within the yachtbuilding sector
  • Good understanding of yacht construction processes, including hull construction and outfitting
  • Experience working with production documentation, technical drawings, and Bills of Materials
  • Proficiency with engineering tools such as CATIA and Siemens NX
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate between multiple departments
  • Good command of written and spoken English

Your benefits

  • 40 paid holidays per year for an excellent work-life balance
  • Covered commuting and interviewing costs
  • Business Travel Insurance, so you stay safe during your business travels
  • Basic Dutch course, so you can understand the Dutch jokes during the coffee break
  • Access to social gatherings, lectures, and events, so you will meet like-minded people within the Dutch maritime industry
  • Housing search support and registration supported by Van Storm
