Your opportunity

The Welding Engineer IWE possesses specialized knowledge and is accountable for managing welding activities during all stages of a project, including tender, engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning. The Welding Engineer also serves as a liaison between the vessel(s) and work site(s), clients, project teams, departments, subcontractors, suppliers, and other business contacts. Depending on the size and complexity of a project, the Welding Engineer may be assigned to one or more projects. The ideal candidate should have proven welding or pipeline experience and be comfortable working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

What you will do

  • Identify, develop, and qualify welding methods
  • Provide technical input and cost estimates for welding methods, equipment, and consumables
  • Initiate and control the process of developing and improving welding equipment
  • Review welding proposals and documentation
  • Monitor the daily progress of ongoing production on board the vessels and on-site
  • Maintain and expand technical and practical knowledge of offshore pipeline welding and construction work, including non-destructive testing techniques
  • Actively participate in international welding-related committees and workgroups

What you already have

  • +3 years of experience in the welding or pipeline industry
  • A MSc. or BSc. in Engineering or International Welding Engineering
  • A solution-finding and hands-on approach, since you will be the one putting the execution plan together with input from many others
  • A flexible mindset and communicative attitude, so you don’t get stuck in your own ideas and you communicate any changes or decisions to all parties involved
  • Ability to work in a high-paced, international environment
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multicultural team and clients worldwide
  • Available for full-time work in The Hague area, and about 20% of your work time traveling around the globe
  • Passion for driving offshore technological solutions is key
