Your opportunity

As a Tender Engineer Marine Engineering, you will design mechanical systems like propulsion, HVAC, firefighting, and auxiliary systems for advanced naval vessels. Working in a team, you will create engineering solutions that are commercially viable and attractive. This role involves technical design and persuasive writing to support your ideas. After securing a tender, you will ensure a smooth transition of your work to the engineering and production departments.

What you will do

  • Define system architectures, including P&ID’s, 2D/3D CAD arrangements, MBSE models, and system configurations for the design and tender package
  • Estimate weight, power, and costs, and prepare main ship balances and propulsion system configurations
  • Conduct requirements analysis, draft marine engineering specifications, and support subcontractor quotation processes for preliminary equipment selection and budget allocation
  • Evaluate designs against requirements and prepare reports
  • Write technical documents, contract specifications, and reports, communicating complex ideas to customers and suppliers
  • Participate in discussions with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders on technical and commercial aspects of proposed solutions
  • Support cost evaluations provided by suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal departments to optimize project outcomes

What you already have

  • +1 year of experience in marine engineering design concepts and practices
  • Excellent writing skills, able to deliver clear text, figures, and calculations with specific technical details and specifications, important for clear communication with stakeholders
  • A commercial mindset to deliver practical and attractive technical and financial forecasts, ensuring project success
  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Permanent EU citizenship and a passport are required due to the military nature of the projects
