Your opportunity

Are you passionate about maritime regulations and keen on bridging the gap between engineering and compliance? We are looking for a Technical Specialist Rules & Regulations to play a crucial role in ensuring that our statutory plans meet all necessary ship specifications, industry standards, and regulatory demands.

In this role, you will collaborate with engineering teams, classification societies, and clients to deliver compliant and effective technical solutions, helping to steer the projects to success.

What you will do

  • Research and interpret relevant maritime norms, rules, regulations, and customer requirements for Plans and Arrangements
  • Draft project-specific regulatory frameworks and ensure they are accessible to all relevant teams
  • Provide guidance and support to project engineers in applying these standards to their technical designs
  • Develop alternative proposals when deviations from the regulatory framework are required
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Plans & Arrangements department by staying updated with industry developments

What you already have

  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related technical field
  • In-depth experience and comprehensive understanding of Class and Statutory regulations, ideally gained in shipbuilding or offshore installations
  • Strong enthusiasm for research, coupled with a dedication to sharing your expertise with colleagues
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, including MicroStation, Cadmatic, and/or 3D Experience (Catia)
  • Excellent communication skills so that you can communicate fluently with your multi-national team and various stakeholders
  • Proficiency in German and English is a plus, helpful for communicating in a multicultural environment and with international clients
  • Permanent EU citizenship and a passport are required due to the military nature of the projects
