Your opportunity

As a Structural Engineer & Python Developer, you will play a key role in the development of a specialized software designed for simulating and analyzing complex physical systems. The simulation software will be based on widely acknowledged analysis tools in the industry such as Python, Git, ANSYS, and Orcaflex. You will be leading the ongoing development of tools and methodologies, ensuring that they are in harmony with market demands of the offshore energy industry. Moreover, you will have the responsibility of implementing software practices including version control, unit testing, and similar principles, to secure a dependable software development process.

What you will do

  • Develop simulation software, initially focusing on Floating Offshore Wind systems and later Single Point Mooring systems
  • Drive the ongoing improvement of tools and methodologies including Python, Git, ANSYS, and Orcaflex
  • Implement structured software development practices, encompassing version control, unit testing, and similar principles
  • Provide regular updates on progress, setbacks and concerns to the Technology Manager Floating Wind and Section Head Structural Engineering
  • Collaborate with a specialized team of engineers
  • Respond timely to inter-discipline checks ensuring smooth project execution

What you already have

  • BSc. or MSc. in Structural Engineering, Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience in Structural Engineering
  • Extensive experience with scripting in Python in an engineering environment
  • Experience with digital twins, GIT, Azure DevOps, Orcaflex and/or ANSYS is preferable
  • Knowledge of Applied Mechanics, Finite Element Analysis and materials
  • An analytical and solution-finding approach, since you will be the one solving engineering puzzles
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multicultural team, authorities, and clients worldwide
