Your opportunity

Are you ready to bring your expertise in composite structures to a dynamic and challenging naval environment? We are seeking a Technical Specialist in Composite Structures for a project-based role, where you’ll be pivotal in supporting the engineering and production planning of large naval composite structures. From the initial stages of basic engineering to production, you’ll ensure the successful design, validation, and integration of composite elements in our high-profile naval projects.

What you will do

  • Deliver high-quality engineering within project timeframes, budgets, and quality standards
  • Conduct and review structural analyses, supporting Ansys simulations for masts and deckhouses
  • Design and validate large composite structures, performing structural calculations including FEM, strength, stiffness, and more
  • Review and assess technical documentation from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with composite manufacturers and internal teams to develop building strategies and integrate components into the ship design

What you already have

  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related technical field
  • +5 years of experience in structural composite engineering
  • Proficiency in structural FEM analysis, with a preference for experience in Ansys modeling and other software such as Siemens NX or FEMAP, and CAD systems like NUPAS and Catia
  • In-depth knowledge of Fibre Reinforced Polymers and composite production processes
  • Excellent communication skills so that you can communicate fluently with your multi-national team and various stakeholders
  • Proficiency in German and Dutch is a plus, helpful for communicating in a multicultural environment and with international clients
  • Permanent EU citizenship and a passport are required due to the military nature of the projects
