Job summary:

Tasks: 3D design of hull and superstructure in Cadmatic or Siemens NX

Projects: hull and superstructure for the super yacht industry

Company: engineering office with state-of-the-art building facilities

Main requirements: +5 years of experience as a Structural Engineer and +2 years as a project & team Coordinator

Your opportunity

As a Sr Structural Engineer Yacht Building, you will be part of the Engineering Team specializing in mega yacht projects +100m. Your main task will be leading and coordinating the engineering team through detailed engineering and production phases. You will supervise your colleagues’ activities, and control the output of the subcontracted detail engineering packages.

As you will be involved in projects from engineering to delivery, you will also communicate with the production team on regular basis. 

What you will do

  • Supporting and coaching the engineering team, to provide them with excellent technical and personal guidance
  • Occasionally performing the 3D design check, to ensure smooth integration with the rest of the project
  • Communicating with external parties and customers
  • Managing the project, to make sure it’s delivered with the right quality and within the time and budget frames
  • Actively cooperating with the other disciplines in the execution of the tasks, to ensure transparent information flow
  • Analyzing and checking the drawings in the process from engineering to production and delivery, as you will be involved in several stages of the project
  • Supporting the production team with solving problems

What you already have

  • +5 years of experience as a Structural Engineer in the yacht- or shipbuilding sectors
  • +2 years of experience in team & project coordination
  • Good working knowledge of Cadmatic or/and Siemens NX, so you can quickly catch up with the project scope
  • Clear and empathetic communication, since you will be working across several departments and project teams
  • Ability to work in a high-paced, international environment
  • Result and quality oriented, so you can motivate your team to achieve the best results
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multicultural team
  • Available for full-time in the Rotterdam area
