Your opportunity

As a Sr Naval Architect Yacht Building, you will be at the forefront of designing and engineering custom-built superyachts. This prestigious role involves leading the Naval Architecture department, where your technical expertise and creativity will drive the realization of extraordinary yacht projects.

You will ensure the seamless integration of various engineering disciplines and oversee the execution of complex shipbuilding calculations and analyses. Your leadership will be pivotal in maintaining the high standards of the yachts, from the initial design phase to the final delivery.

What you will do

Project Leadership and Coordination:

  • Leading and coordinating the naval architecture aspect of yacht projects from the design phase to sea trials and delivery, ensuring the integrity of the ship design
  • Managing and overseeing Marine Engineers and Junior Naval Architects, ensuring all technical requirements are met and integrated seamlessly into the final design

Engineering Excellence:

  • Conducting shipbuilding calculations, drawings, and analyses while coordinating parts of this work with your team
  • Ensuring that the specifications in the contract are met while maintaining the overall integrity of the naval architecture

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for shipbuilding matters with clients, including shipyards, owner representatives, classification societies, and flag states
  • Assessing and managing risks and impacts related to naval architecture and other engineering disciplines such as Exterior, Interior, Mechanical, and Structural Engineering

Innovative Solutions:

  • Tackling project-specific issues and integrating new technologies into yacht designs
  • Ensuring timely input from the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) specialists

What you already have

  • +5 years of experience as a Sr Naval Architect or Project Engineer Naval Architecture within yacht or shipbuilding sectors
  • BSc. or MSc. in Naval Architecture or Naval Engineering
  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams and defending comprehensive ship design concepts
  • A proactive and independent approach, since you will be involved in projects from start to finish
  • Analytical thinking style & proactive attitude, so you can observe, propose, and realize innovative solutions based on sound knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of rules & regulations for super yachts +80m
  • Experience with Classification Societies is a big asset
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, and Siemens NX is a huge plus!
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multi-cultural team and clients
