Your opportunity

As a Senior System Architect for Combat Systems, you will play a strategic and technical leadership role in defining the architecture of advanced combat systems on naval vessels. You will oversee the development and integration of modular, compliant systems, shaping both the functional and non-functional system requirements that determine vessel performance, safety, and effectiveness. With a clear focus on IVVQ (Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification) coordination, you will align stakeholders and technical disciplines, while ensuring that all systems are designed with traceability, compliance, and operational integration in mind.

What you will do

  • Act as the technical authority for system architecture and combat systems integration
  • Lead the development, flow-down, and documentation of system and subsystem requirements
  • Maintain and structure requirement traceability across modules, subsystems, and project phases
  • Coordinate IVVQ planning and execution to ensure compliance with all requirements
  • Evaluate deliverables and support formal verification and validation activities
  • Provide cross-functional guidance to engineering teams and external partners
  • Align technical solutions with stakeholder needs and integration standards
  • Promote continuous improvement in requirements and system integration processes

What you already have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. Systems Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering)
  • Extensive experience in system or subcontract management of complex technical systems
  • Profound understanding of naval and combat system integration
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS
  • Proven leadership in multidisciplinary project environments
  • Excellent communication skills in English; ability to read German is a plus
  • Eligibility for a security clearance; clean background and excellent references required
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are mandatory—visa holders or non-EU nationals are not eligible due to defense project requirements
