Your opportunity

As a Senior QHSE Engineer, you will be a part of the QHSE Department. You will work with a highly experienced team of engineers with a focus on quality, safety/marine safety, and environmental impact. You will support the organization onshore and offshore.

A good QHSE Engineer will have experience in the offshore industry, will have expert knowledge of H&S management systems and risk mitigation strategy, and have recognized H&S qualifications. In this role, you are responsible for further developing, implementing and managing the integrated corporate management system. Reviewing and improving allocated corporate procedures in the light of continuous improvement and compliance with existing and developing rules and regulations. 

What you will do

  • Support the organization (onshore and offshore) with the implementation and improvement of the integrated corporate management system (safety, quality, and environmental)
  • Act as lead incident investigator and coach other QHSE engineers
  • Support and advise vessel-based Safety Officers on QHSE matters and modifications
  • Lead and participate in the projects related to QHSE
  • Follow up vessel modifications and provide safety engineering input together with the assigned HSE Engineer
  • Participate in the audit schedule as a lead auditor with internal and external audits
  • Update the incident database and monitor the agreed follow-up actions
  • Stay up to date with the latest updates regards the QSHE standards and regulations
  • If you are assigned to a vessel you should provide HSE related input for portcall, docking, lay-up documentation

What you already have

  • +8 years of experience in a QHSE role, preferably in the maritime/ offshore industry
  • You have a good knowledge of H&S management systems and risk mitigation strategy
  • Experience in maintaining and operating management systems to the guiding standards, with priority on ISM and ISO 9001/14001/45001
  • Have a recognized H&S qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent)
  • A solution-finding and hands-on approach, since you will be working on diverse projects at the same time
  • Excellent communicator with a clear understanding of compliance needs and a fit-for-purpose approach
