Are you passionate about Naval Architecture and you enjoy working on real complex shipbuilding projects?

As a Senior Naval Architect at this Engineering & Consultancy firm you are responsible for the conceptual development and basic design of challenging naval and offshore ship concepts.

What you will do

Perform Naval Architecture calculations such as stability, weight, hydrostatics, manoeuvrability, etc.
Create and check structural and scantling calculations performed by other colleagues
Act as a mentor and coordinate junior naval architects within your team
Closely collaborate with the other disciplines (systems, mechanical, structural...) to have a fully integrated design
Communication with clients and classification societies to ensure good deliverables
Write specifications for the yard and be available to solve their questions in the construction phase

Our client is a renowned engineering consultancy firm in the greater Rotterdam area, with a deep-rooted history of providing naval architecture and marine engineering solutions for the development of naval ships as well as complex offshore vessels and floating installations. With a real passion for technology these engineers are involved in the full engineering cycle, working together on delivering concept, basic, and detail designs and developing new technologies.

What you already have

MSc. in Naval Architecture
+8 yrs of exp. as a Naval Architect developing complex vessels with an offshore mission
You enjoy guiding and mentoring more junior engineers
Excellent knowledge of theoretical naval architecture calculations
Open personality, solution-driven and responsible
Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multi-cultural team. Willingness to learn Dutch is much appreciated!
Willingness to perform a background check
EU citizenship is a must, due to the nature of some military projects
