Your opportunity

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a leading role in delivering high-end engineering projects in the offshore energy sector. You’ll oversee the full engineering scope—from concept to delivery—ensuring that all mechanical systems and equipment meet project specifications, client expectations, and industry standards.

You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team, manage meetings with clients and vendors, and be involved in all technical stages, from technical bid evaluations, documentation and specfiications. In this role, you’ll not only ensure quality and compliance but also drive innovation, optimize processes, and continuously seek improvements for future projects.

What you will do

  • Perform mechanical engineering activities for offshore and energy projects, ensuring high technical standards and project compliance
  • Prepare specifications, datasheets, inquiries, and technical bid evaluations for mechanical equipment and systems
  • Establish and manage the mechanical equipment list, ensuring all technical details are regularly updated and aligned with project needs
  • Report on equipment status and progress to both the project manager and department manager
  • Ensure all engineering work complies with client specifications, internal standards, industry codes, and good engineering practices
  • Supervise and guide mechanical personnel within the project team, fostering quality and efficiency in execution
  • Coordinate closely with lead engineers from other disciplines to maintain smooth communication and integration across the project task force
  • Support the delivery of innovative, sustainable, and safe engineering solutions within the offshore energy landscape

Their scope of work covers a wide range of technical activities: starting from the feasibility studies, up to the execution of engineering and procurement projects.

Offshore platforms, FPSOs, onshore facilities, and complex steel & mechanical installations are only some examples of their impressive portfolio of projects based all over the world.

What you already have

  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • +5 years of experience in mechanical engineering in the offshore or shipbuilding industry
  • Excellent communication and people skills, since you will be communicating with other internal departments and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a highly complex technical environment, so expect to be positively challenged
  • Fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multicultural team
  • Available for full-time in the Rotterdam area
