Your opportunity

As a Senior/Lead Marine Mechanical Engineer, you will tackle technically complex challenges across a variety of diverse projects. You’ll play a crucial role in developing advanced mechanical systems for naval vessels, floating offshore units, and special vessels. This includes designing propulsion train systems, planes and rudder setups, as well as special components like valves and hatches. You’ll work closely with the Lead Engineer, while guiding Junior Engineers, and actively contribute ideas to drive innovation and growth.

What you will do

  • Design propulsion train systems, planes, rudder designs, and mechanical components for naval and offshore projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop cutting-edge marine engineering solutions.
  • Oversee and support junior Engineers, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Serve as the technical expert in mechanical systems for various naval vessels.
  • Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of mechanical engineering practices.

With a real passion for technology these engineers are involved in the full engineering cycle, working together on delivering concept, basic, and detail designs and developing new technologies.

What you already have

  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • +5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or marine systems in the shipbuilding industry 
  • Excellent communication and people skills, since you will be communicating with other internal departments and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a highly complex technical environment, so expect to be positively challenged
  • Fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multicultural team
  • Available for full-time in the Rotterdam area
  • EU citizenship is required
