Your opportunity

As a Senior Engineer Steel Outfitting (Project-Based), you will strengthen the Structures, Plans & Arrangements team within a high-end naval engineering environment. In this role, you will take ownership of coordinating outsourced detailed engineering activities for steel outfitting systems, including stairs, ladders, and foundations.

You will ensure that external engineering partners receive the correct technical input and deliver models and documentation fully compliant with applicable standards, customer specifications, and defence-related requirements. Your technical expertise and practical mindset — considering manufacturability, ergonomics, and maintainability — will directly contribute to the successful realization of next-generation naval vessels.

What you will do

  • Independently coordinate the outsourced detailed engineering scope of steel outfitting (stairs, ladders, foundations).
  • Provide external engineering partners with clear technical input, specifications, and guidance.
  • Review and validate 3D models and deliverables for compliance with regulations, class rules, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple engineering disciplines to achieve integrated and optimized solutions.
  • Identify technical challenges and proactively propose practical solutions to the multidisciplinary team lead.
  • Ensure engineering output considers manufacturability, maintainability, ergonomics, and production feasibility.
  • Stay up to date with technical developments and contribute to continuous improvement within the department.
  • Support the further professionalization of the Plans & Arrangements function.

What you already have

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with over 5 years of experience in outfitting engineering
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA (3DExperience), with experience in ship or offshore contexts
  • Good understanding of shipbuilding standards, regulations, and technical documentation requirements.
  • Strong coordination skills and the ability to guide outsourced engineering activities.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment security screening
  • EU citizenship is a must
