Main requirements: demonstrable professional experience in concept and basic design of HVAC, electrical and automation systems

Your opportunity

As an HVAC Systems Engineer (project-based), you will have the chance to be involved in high-tech and complex shipbuilding projects focusing on integration of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems from concept through its final stages. You will work within the Marine & Propulsion Systems Department collaborating closely with highly professional system integration engineers to deliver crucial engineering solutions.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to incorporate and integrate components and systems
  • Ensure compliance with requirements and provide evidence of compliance
  • Obtain and examine engineering deliverables from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Maintain the engineering database up to date providing necessary information and documentation
  • Perform concept and basic design calculations, validating subcontractors' design
  • Create technical and functional specifications
  • Oversee contractual requirements and monitor change orders
  • Inspect products and systems at supplier facilities and join factory acceptance tests (FAT)
  • Provide technical support during commissioning activities
  • Perform design checks and risk analysis ensuring quality of deliverables

What you already have

  • BSc. or MSc. in Mechanical Engineering or relevant marine systems discipline
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of HVAC, electrical and automation systems
  • Experience with statutory authorities and skills to maintain relationships with all internal and external parties
  • Persuasive communication skills and fluent English so you can communicate efficiently with your multicultural team
  • Ability and awareness to manage project budget and planning ensuring quality standards
  • Willingness to relocate to Vlissingen
  • EU citizenship is a must due to the nature of the military projects
  • Willingness to perform a background check
