Your opportunity

As a Senior (Lead) Electrical Engineer, you will be at the technical heart of complex maritime projects, shaping the electrical systems behind a wide range of vessels. From first concept to construction, you will combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, and plenty of room to challenge the status quo.

What you will do

  • Design and develop electrical installations, drive systems, and onboard automation for complex maritime projects.
  • Perform and review electrical engineering calculations, designs, and technical documentation across concept, basic, and detailed design phases.
  • Collaborate closely with systems, mechanical, structural, and naval architecture, and other disciplines to ensure a fully integrated vessel design, while providing technical guidance and support to fellow engineers.
  • Contribute to technical innovation and development within the electrical engineering discipline.
  • Communication with clients and classification societies to ensure good deliverables
  • Write specifications for the yard and be available to solve their questions in the construction phase

With a real passion for technology these engineers are involved in the full engineering cycle, working together on delivering concept, basic, and detail designs and developing new technologies.

What you already have

  • BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience within shipbuilding or the maritime industry, with a solid understanding of different vessel types.
  • Strong knowledge of concept and basic design, with the technical ability to oversee electrical systems and ensure consistency within the overall vessel design.
  • A technically driven and proactive engineer who enjoys diverse, project-based environments, keeps up with industry developments, and continuously looks for ways to improve and innovate.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multi-cultural team. Willingness to learn Dutch is much appreciated!
  • Willingness to perform a background check
  • EU citizenship is a must, due to the nature of some military projects
