Job summary:

Tasks: Coordinate the electrical system architecture and integration of secondary hardware systems on complex maritime vessels

Projects: Electrical system integration projects on either naval vessels or luxury mega yachts, depending on the department of choice

Company: Leading Dutch electrical installation and system integration specialist active across naval, yachtbuilding, and offshore sectors

Main requirements: Experience in electrical system integration and coordination within complex maritime environments

Your opportunity

As a Secondary Electrical Systems Integration Engineer, you focus on the electrical integration of secondary systems on board complex maritime vessels. The role is open in two different departments: one dedicated to naval projects and one focused on luxury mega yachts. The core responsibilities, level of complexity, and way of working are the same. The project environment is what differs.

You contribute to defining and maintaining the system architecture for secondary electrical systems and act as the connecting factor between multiple onboard systems. You work closely with colleagues, suppliers, and customers and play a key role in delivering technically complex projects.

You are not the deepest specialist in one component. Instead, you bring broad system knowledge and keep overview in challenging technical environments.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain the system architecture for secondary electrical systems within maritime projects.
  • Coordinate the integration of multiple electrical subsystems on board vessels.
  • Act as the link between design, engineering, execution, and the customer.
  • Manage stakeholders on both customer and internal sides.
  • Support alignment between technical disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work from secure office locations and visit project and customer sites on a regular basis.

Where you will work

You will join one of two specialised departments, depending on your background and preference:

  • A department focused on naval and governmental shipbuilding projects
  • A department focused on luxury mega yacht projects

Both environments are technically complex, multidisciplinary, and require a high level of coordination and system thinking. You will work closely with engineering teams, execution departments, and external partners to deliver high-quality maritime projects.

What you already have

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline
  • Experience with electrical system integration in maritime, naval, or high-end shipbuilding projects
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to maintain overview in complex technical environments
  • Clear communication skills and confidence in stakeholder management
  • A structured and proactive way of working
  • Fluent command of English, both written and spoken

Your benefits

  • 40 paid holidays per year for an excellent work-life balance
  • Covered commuting and interviewing costs
  • Business Travel Insurance
  • Basic Dutch course, so you will understand the Dutch jokes during the coffee break
  • Access to social gatherings, lectures, and events, so you will meet like-minded friends within the Dutch Maritime Industry. We also offer you a 1-year membership of KNVTS, Royal Dutch Association of Marine Engineers.
  • Housing search support and registration supported by Van Storm
