Your opportunity

As a Project Manager Shipbuilding, you will oversee the organizational, technical, and relationship management aspects of multiple international shipbuilding projects including new builds and modifications for various vessels such as submarines, surface ships, FPSOs, and special marine platforms. You will be the primary contact for clients, suppliers, and third parties.

What you will do

  • Manage and oversee all phases of international projects such as submarines, naval vessels, and specialized vessels
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, suppliers, and third parties, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project
  • Lead a team of engineers in delivering high-quality project outcomes, from initial feasibility studies through design, engineering, and site supervision
  • Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical and safety standards
  • Coordinate the technical, organizational, and relational aspects of projects across multidisciplinary teams
  • Provide strategic input and guidance during various project phases, from concept design to implementation
  • Monitor and manage project risks, ensuring proper mitigation plans are in place
  • Ensure that all deliverables meet the required quality standards and client expectations
  • Foster innovation and problem-solving within your team, addressing technical challenges in complex maritime environments

With a real passion for technology these engineers are involved in the full engineering cycle, working together on delivering concept, basic, and detail designs and developing new technologies.

What you already have

  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent
  • +5 years of experience in project management or project engineering in the shipbuilding industry
  • +10 years of experience in engineering in the shipbuilding industry 
  • High-quality standards, so you always strive for the best outcome for the project
  • Excellent communication and people skills, since you will be communicating with other internal departments and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a highly complex technical environment, so expect to be positively challenged
  • Fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multicultural team
  • Available for full-time in the Rotterdam area
