Your opportunity

As Project Manager Combat Systems, you will be providing leadership for building up and implementing the combat systems of Navy Vessels. The execution process of combat systems; engineering, manufacturing and supply chain activities will be your responsibility from start to execution and training, ensuring quality standards, budget, and timelines are met within the project scope. The training facility consists of ship simulation stations, ship equipment, and maintenance training facilities. As Project Manager Combat Systems, you will be accountable for ensuring full compliance with all applicable requirements of customers and project specifications.

What you will do

  • Building up and implementing the combat system of the project from the start date of the contract until final delivery to the customer
  • Developing and executing the project plan and monitoring progress for operational targets with respect to cost, quality and timelines, and reports on a regular basis to the project director
  • Developing and implementing all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that the project organization achieve project goals
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance of the project with (financial) guidelines, business, employment and HSSEQ regulations and identifying, examining, and assessing risks in line with internal and external regulations and standards
  • Accountable for the commissioning, trials, testing and delivery of the vessel to the client and classification society, this includes Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Harbor Acceptance Tests (HAT), Basin Acceptance Tests (BAT) and Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT)
  • Ensuring that the operating objectives and standards (including HSSEQ and AQAP) of performance are understood and owned by the management and employees
  • Managing the project including resource planning and assuring the project team can be staffed with the required capabilities
  • Ensuring full compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications of the customer
  • Representing the company to customers and related professional associations

What you already have

  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline, preferably with an IPMA B certification
  • 5+ years of experience with system engineering and complex shipbuilding simulation projects in international multi-site manufacturing environments
  • Experience working in complex international project environments and in building coalitions with internal and external suppliers and co-makers to achieve common goals
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, preferably also a good command of German 
  • EU citizenship is a must, due to the nature of the military projects
  • Quality and budget awareness as you will be working on the improvement of processes
  • Ability to work in a highly complex technical environment, so expect to be positively challenged
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad occasionally
  • Available for full-time in Vlissingen
