Projects: complex defence & security vessels

Company: naval shipbuilder, part of a globally established group

Main requirements: EU citizenship, technical knowledge and understanding of shipbuilding processes

Your opportunity

As a Project Leader Marine Equipment, you will be part of the F126 frigate project that will be constructed in a series of four vessels. These vessels will require the production and coordination of several large skids, ranging from 5 to 25 tons each. These skids will incorporate various components, piping, and cabling, assembled in a production hall for improved accessibility and efficiency during construction.

Overseeing the coordination of skid activities internally within the engineering department and between work preparation, production, logistics, planning, and testing processes is critical to the success of this project. The primary objective is to ensure the timely delivery of skids from the engineering phase, aligning with agreements made with the building yards in Germany. Additionally, the Skid Coordinator will facilitate seamless collaboration with the building yards, overseeing the complete logistics chain and enabling the successful installation of each skid as a single unit onboard the vessel.

This role comes with continuous challenges throughout the project, with each step carrying its own technical, planning, and logistics risks.

What you will do

  • Coordinate the production and assembly of skids in production hall, ensuring efficiency and quality
  • Manage each skid as a separate project, overseeing engineering, work preparation, and production phases
  • Collaborate with external building yards in Germany, outsourcing production work and ensuring seamless coordination
  • Follow-up resilient mounting systems in skid design to reduce underwater noise and enhance shock resistance
  • Address technical, planning, and logistics challenges at each project phase
  • Facilitate collaboration with building yards, overseeing the complete logistics chain for successful skid installation onboard the vessels
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
