Your opportunity

As the Project Lead Electrical, you will be responsible for the electrical part of superyacht projects from the contract up to and including the warranty period. You will be responsible for the electrical technical design, making technical request specifications, and assessing the technical solutions of suppliers in terms of content.

The Electrical discipline within the project management department is responsible for all electrical issues within the yard, including project support, engineering support, standardization, service and refit support, E-supplier selection, calculations, innovations, and flag state and class-related items.

You will work closely with the Casco Manager during the construction of the hull, the Engineering Manager during the engineering phase, and the Outfitting Manager during the actual production phase at the yard. As the substantive project owner for the electrical part of the superyacht, you will be an advisor and an important linking pin with the designers and contracted suppliers.

What you will do

  • Providing technical leadership for the electrical part of the superyacht projects
  • Developing technical specifications and designs for electrical systems
  • Evaluating supplier proposals and solutions to ensure they meet project requirements
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Advising on technical solutions that meet customer and architect requirements
  • Monitoring project costs and making recommendations for cost savings
  • Ensuring compliance with flag state and class-related regulations
  • Managing project risks and identifying mitigation strategies

What you already have

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • +7 years of experience in electrical engineering in the shipbuilding industry
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components used in shipbuilding, including generators, switchboards, transformers, and motors
  • Experience with electrical system design and implementation in shipbuilding
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electrical systems 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills since you will be involved in communication with designers, owner representatives, subcontractors, and co-creators
  • Available for full-time in Leiden and Amsterdam area
