Your opportunity

As a Production Engineer Structural, you pair up your engineering skills with a mindset of a shipbuilder. Your main task is to carry out the project through the engineering and production phases, until the sea trials and commissioning tests. Due to your excellent knowledge of design rules and yard standards, you will ensure that a functional design can be translated into a detailed information package, which results in a smooth construction process during the production stage.

What you will do

  • Producing 2D detailed drawings and 3D models of the superstructure
  • Developing designs based on customer's functional and operational requirements 
  • Supporting the yard with production drawings, nested cutting files, and assembly instructions 
  • Acting as a contact person between the engineering and production departments
  • Thinking of creative solutions for complex problems to provide production support, where you could use your outside-the-box thinking
  • Actively cooperating with the other disciplines in the execution of the tasks, to ensure a smooth information flow
  • Analyzing and checking the drawings in the process from engineering to production and delivery, as you will be involved in several project stages
  • Communicating with external suppliers and subcontractors

What you already have

  • +2 years of experience with the engineering and production processes in the yacht- or shipbuilding sectors
  • Experience with structural design and engineering (CNC nesting, bending templates, plates)
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Cadmatic, or/and Siemens NX, so you can catch up with the work scope quickly
  • Clear and empathetic communication, since you will be working across several departments and project teams
  • Ability to work in a high-paced, international environment
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multicultural team
  • Available for full-time in the Rotterdam area
