Your opportunity

As a Plans and Arrangements Engineer your main task will be to produce a technical package and have it successfully approved by the customer, Class, Statutory & Flag Societies.

You will mainly focus on delivering 2D & 3D documentation of plans and arrangements. You will be involved in both, basic and detail phases of the project within the Structural Engineering Department. 

What you will do

  • Producing technical package consisting of statutory plans, arrangements of accommodation, outer decks and technical spaces excluding engine room
  • Cooperating on a daily basis with other team members, statutory bodies and the customer
  • Communicating with the owner’s team, surveyors, flag & class societies
  • Checking and analyzing the technical data provided by suppliers and subcontractors
  • Supporting the production team during the commissioning phase

What you already have

  • +5 years of experience in structural engineering within shipbuilding or offshore sectors
  • Excellent technical knowledge of plans and arrangements
  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering
  • Good working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD systems (Cadmatic and/or Catia)
  • Good theoretical & practical knowledge of class and flag rules & regulations
  • Excellent communication and people skills, since you will be communicating with other internal departments, as well as external stakeholders
  • A practical and customer-oriented approach, since you will be involved in communication with clients and class societies
  • Ability to work in a highly complex technical environment, so expect to be positively challenged
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multi-cultural team. Willingness to learn Dutch is much appreciated!
  • Available for full-time in the Rotterdam area
  • EU citizenship is a must, due to the nature of the military projects
