Your opportunity

In your role as a NavCom Systems Engineer, your primary responsibility is to ensure that all navigation and communication systems are designed in line with project specifications, regulations, and timelines. You will work closely with the Lead Electrical Engineer and Project Leader, keeping them informed about progress, challenges, and technical improvements. You will play a key role in coordinating suppliers, validating technical documentation, and ensuring seamless system integration onboard.

What you will do

  • Designing and coordinating NavCom systems such as radar, gyrocompass, magnetic compass, GMDSS, speed logs, and echosounders
  • Ensuring compliance with project specifications, class regulations, and flag state requirements
  • Reviewing supplier technical documentation and maintaining communication to obtain accurate and complete information
  • Preparing technical specifications for RFQs and defining system requirements for onboard integration
  • Managing and uploading engineering data in PLM systems such as Teamcenter
  • Supporting multidisciplinary teams with mast design, wheelhouse layout, and wing station integration
  • Collaborating with electrical and other engineering disciplines to ensure optimal system performance
  • Supporting the Project Leader with daily coordination and engineering tasks

What you already have

  • MBO level with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or HBO level education in Electrical Engineering
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, automation, and lighting
  • Familiarity with NavCom systems such as radar, gyrocompass, and GMDSS
  • Experience within shipbuilding, yacht building, or maritime engineering environments
  • Experience with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Eplan, Teamcenter, Cadmatic, or ETAP
  • Structured and systematic working approach with a results-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication skills in English
