Your opportunity

As a Naval Architect Yacht Building, you will be developing the theoretical and functional design of mega yacht projects. You will be involved in the process from the initial phase, through the concept and basic engineering, up to the inclining test and sea trials.

You will focus on performing weight, stability, and propulsion calculations, as your main task will be to determine whether it is feasible to build the vessel based on the specifications received from the designers. You will be cooperating closely with internal and external CFD & FEM specialists, Structural Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers, as well as external stakeholders. 

What you will do

  • Performing a wide range of naval architectural calculations for mega yacht projects, such as weight, stability, resistance, propulsion, inclination test, hydrodynamics & hull shape optimization, tank layout, drive axle & appendages, transport, sea trial & delivery
  • Ensuring the correct design according to various regulations such as draft marks & watertight integrity, fire safety & escape routes, and noise & vibrations
  • Checking whether the information received from the designers is accurate and making a critical analysis with regard to the feasibility and feasibility of the design
  • Maintaining continuous contact with the Lead Naval Architect for the smooth exchange of information, coordination, and consultation regarding the design
  • Keeping an eye on the developments of the norms, standards, and procedures to ensure the optimal use of internal knowledge and skills
  • Communicating on a daily basis with other departments that are involved in the project (mechanical, interior, exterior, structural, and naval architecture)
  • Integrating new technologies into the design

What you already have

  • +3 years of experience as a Naval Architect within yacht or shipbuilding sectors
  • BSc. or MSc. in Naval Architecture or Naval Engineering
  • A proactive and independent approach, since you will be involved in projects from start to finish
  • Analytical thinking style & proactive attitude, so you are able to observe, propose and realize innovative solutions based on sound knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of rules & regulations for super yachts +80m
  • Experience with Classification Societies is a big asset
  • Passion for yacht building is a big asset 
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, and Siemens NX is a huge plus!
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multi-cultural team and clients
