Your opportunity

Are you passionate about Naval Architecture and you have great knowledge in weight & hydrostatics? Then this might be the right opportunity for you!

As a Naval Architect, you will be involved in the proposal stage and control the design further in the engineering and production stages. You will translate the client requirements and verify concept design by using your theoretical naval architecture knowledge, making ship design calculations, controlling the weight, and checking hydrostatic properties. As you will be involved in the concept design you will have a major contribution to the performance of the vessel and you will be able to participate in the inclining tests to check that everything works as expected.

What you will do

  • Performing naval architecture calculations such as stability, weight, hydrostatics, center of gravity, among others
  • Analyzing and controlling weight balance and stability boundaries
  • Being accountable for class approval of the stability booklet
  • Working closely with the other disciplines (systems, mechanical, structural, etc.) to have a fully integrated design
  • Advising on weight and stability in each engineering phase from concept design to production
  • Liaising with clients and classification societies to ensure a smooth cooperation
  • Participating in inclining tests and surveys to verify aspects like ship weight and center of gravity

What you already have

  • BSc. or MSc. degree in a Naval Architecture
  • Experience in lightship weight and hydrostatic calculation
  • A structured and accurate approach, to provide a solid base for the project development
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multi-cultural team. Willingness to learn Dutch is much appreciated!
  • Willingness to perform a background check
  • EU citizenship is a must, due to the nature of the military projects
