Your opportunity

As a Mechanical Service Technician , you will be part of a highly skilled technical team responsible for maintaining and servicing critical mechanical equipment used in complex offshore operations.

You will work both onshore (yards and workshops) and offshore (approximately 15 weeks per year), ensuring that essential machinery remains reliable, safe, and fully operational. This is a hands-on role where your technical expertise directly contributes to the success of large-scale offshore projects.

You will collaborate closely with other technicians, engineers, and subcontractors, working across disciplines such as hydraulics, electrical, and structural systems. If you enjoy working in dynamic environments, solving technical challenges, and being close to the equipment, this role offers strong variety and development opportunities.

What you will do

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical systems such as winches, gearboxes, rotating equipment, and handling systems
  • Assist with assembly, installation, and commissioning of mechanical equipment
  • Support mobilisation and demobilisation activities during offshore projects
  • Supervise subcontractors performing mechanical work when required
  • Work closely with other technical disciplines (hydraulics, electrical, structural) to ensure integrated solutions
  • Maintain accurate service reports and documentation in internal systems
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with safety and quality standards
  • Contribute to improving reliability and performance of mechanical assets

What you already have

  • MBO degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field
  • At least 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or service roles
  • Experience in offshore, shipbuilding, dredging, or heavy machinery is a strong advantage
  • Good understanding of rotating equipment and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with safety standards and classification requirements
  • Hands-on, practical, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Willingness to travel and work offshore (approx. 15 weeks per year)
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. IFS) and MS Office is a plus
