Your opportunity

As a Marine Systems Maintenance Expert, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in the development, evaluation, and implementation of advanced maintenance strategies and technologies for ship machinery.

In this dynamic role, you’ll lead initiatives across research, design, and project execution, while advising on cutting-edge condition monitoring technologies and data-driven systems. Your expertise will be critical in balancing traditional methodologies with modern solutions, and driving efficiency and reliability in naval engineering projects.

We are looking for someone with strong proficiency in monitoring technologies, sensor functionality, and automation systems, as well as a solid background in maintenance or asset management. Your ability to evaluate and optimize both scheduled and condition-based maintenance will be essential for the success of various naval projects.

What you will do

  • Provide expert guidance to research, proposals, and engineering teams, contributing to the development of management plans, technical reports, and validation protocols for complex naval projects.
  • Support the execution of Verification and Validation tests during production phases or as part of research programs.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance practices by promoting findings and advancements across projects.
  • Participate in design reviews, ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables within agreed timelines, budgets, and standards.
  • Ensure all project work adheres to required technical specifications and regulations.
  • Engage in process improvement and knowledge-sharing efforts within the team.

What you already have

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering and Automation.
  • 5+ year of experience in condition monitoring and smart maintenance within complex project environments.
  • Certified ISO 18436-2 (III) specialist or equivalent expertise.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with research institutions, engineering teams, and project managers in the maritime or naval sectors
  • Ability to work full time in Vlissingen Area.
  • EU citizenship and passport; due to the military nature of projects, specific eligibility requirements apply.
