Your opportunity

As a Marine Systems/Propulsion Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and integration of next-generation E-fuel propulsion and energy systems for more sustainable vessels. Working within an international, highly motivated team, you will contribute to projects that combine advanced engineering with environmental impact.

You’ll take ownership of feasibility studies linked to ROI based on CO2 emissions fee, concept, and basic design work, develop system diagrams, and provide technical input during yard coordination. This is an opportunity to work in a flexible, international environment where innovation, teamwork, and passion for green technology drive everything we do.

What you will do

  • Prepare feasibility studies for green technologies system integration
  • Develop concept and basic designs for propulsion and electrical systems, focusing on sustainable and alternative fuels
  • Prepare P&IDs for hydrogen, methanol, or ammonia fuel systems
  • Design single-line and block diagrams, automation systems, including electrical interfaces
  • Support the design of propulsion and battery systems, ensuring integration across disciplines
  • Collaborate closely with shipping investors, shipowners' board of directors, VCs, etc.
  • Work with design software such as AutoCAD (2D/3D schematics) and Rhino (3D modelling)
  • Contribute to innovative projects related to fuel systems, wind-assisted propulsion, and environmental performance

Where you will work

You’ll be part of a united international team with colleagues in the Netherlands, Argentina, India, and Singapore, all connected by a shared passion for cleaner oceans and green ship design. The working culture is open, collaborative, and flexible — you can work from home or in the Amsterdam office, and the team comes together once a year for a joint trip. It’s an inspiring environment for engineers who value freedom, responsibility, and meaningful work.

What you already have

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field
