Your opportunity

An experienced Engineer in Marine Piping Systems (Interim) is sought to join our team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in designing and engineering advanced piping systems for high-end naval vessels. Responsibilities include analyzing specifications, developing and modeling engineering packages, and ensuring that the integration of piping systems meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Your expertise will be essential for the successful completion of complex maritime projects.

What you will do

  • Analyze and assess specifications and technical requirements for marine systems integration, products, and processes, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards
  • Develop and model basic engineering packages for marine systems based on customer requirements, regulations, and engineering standards
  • Analyze and address feedback from customers and classification societies
  • Update basic engineering packages and provide information and guidance to relevant internal and external stakeholders as necessary
  • Foster multidisciplinary interaction to ensure project solutions align with overall project objectives
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications
  • Analyze and Assess Specifications: Review and evaluate technical requirements for piping systems to ensure they meet project needs, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks.
  • Engineering Package Development: Set up and model basic engineering packages for piping systems in a 3D environment, following established engineering standards and regulations.
  • Detailed Engineering and Production Support: Develop detailed engineering packages and production information from basic designs, ensuring both accuracy and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Update engineering packages as necessary and provide technical advice and support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Interaction: Collaborate with various disciplines to optimize piping solutions for the overall project.
  • Project Design Reviews: Identify potential issues, suggest improvements, and actively contribute to design reviews to ensure project success.
  • Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Ensure that all designs meet relevant requirements and support the continuous development and retention of departmental knowledge.

What you already have

  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture
  • 2+ years of experience in the shipbuilding industry
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD systems and marine systems engineering, in ships or offshore installations
  • Experience in marine systems engineering on board vessels, familiarity with complex projects, and regulatory bodies
  • Available for full-time in Vlissingen
  • Willingness to perform a background check
  • EU citizenship is a must, due to the nature of the military projects
  • Educational Background: Hold a relevant technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least three years of experience in piping systems engineering, preferably in shipbuilding or offshore installations.
  • CAD Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, with practical experience in modeling and designing complex piping systems.
  • Project Experience: Have experience working on high-end vessels, managing complex projects, and ensuring compliance with statutory bodies and regulations.
  • Language Skills: Possess a good command of both Dutch and English, both written and verbal.
  • Security Screening: Provide excellent references, as a pre-employment security screening is a standard part of the recruitment process.
