Are you an innovative and creative engineer, who possesses in-depth analytical and problem-solving skills in aerodynamics, hydrodynamics and structures? Then this is a great opportunity for you! 

In this role, as a Offshore Hydrodynamics Engineer, you provide the organization with the environmental framework, through hydrodynamical analysis of the conditions, for which offshore structures are to be engineered. You interpret the engineering output in the field of mooring and subsea systems, including anchoring, riser, umbilical and subsea hose systems.

What you will do

  • Communicate with international clients’ representatives and other engineering disciplines to define and motivate engineering choices
  • Develop new products & technologies for the mooring & subsea department
  • Provide input to the Tender department for determining and acquiring future projects
  • Support the after-sales department with requests on existing systems
  • Perform Hydrodynamic Analysis for offshore installation projects
  • Travel abroad to represent the company during offshore installations
  • Report to the Lead Engineer on progress and assist in getting 3rd party and client approval

Besides having proven capabilities in engineering and developing installations for harsh offshore conditions, they own and operate their own fleet of FPSOs. What you already have

  • +3 years of experience in the hydrodynamical analysis of offshore structures
  • BSc./ MSc. degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture
  • Experience with Orcaflex, Ariane or similar
  • An analytical and solution-finding approach, since you will be the one solving multi-disciplinary engineering puzzles
  • A communicative approach, as you can only be successful in this role if you get all parties involved aligned with your solutions
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multicultural team, authorities and clients worldwide
  • Available for full-time work in the Amsterdam area, and willing to travel occasionally to yards, suppliers and clients
