Job summary:

Tasks: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and certification of hydraulic systems across vessels, yards, and offshore projects

Projects: Offshore heavy lift, pipelaying, subsea construction equipment, and yard-based installations

Main requirements: +2 years of experience in hydraulics (hoses, fittings, systems), preferably within offshore, shipbuilding, or heavy machinery environments

Your opportunity

As a Service Technician Hydraulics, you will be part of a specialized service team responsible for maintaining and ensuring the reliability of critical hydraulic systems used in complex offshore operations.

You will work across multiple locations in the Netherlands, including yards and workshops, combined with offshore assignments of approximately 15 weeks per year. Your role will be hands-on, focusing on inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and certification of hydraulic equipment.

Working closely with equipment mechanics and other technical disciplines, you will ensure that all hydraulic systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. This role offers strong variety, combining workshop activities, offshore work, and technical problem-solving in a high-end engineering environment.

What you will do

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hydraulic systems and components
  • Inspect, replace, and certify hydraulic hoses, fittings, and related equipment
  • Support mobilisation and demobilisation activities for offshore projects
  • Assist equipment mechanics and other technicians with hydraulic-related tasks
  • Ensure all hydraulic equipment meets certification and safety requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation and service reports in internal systems
  • Read and interpret hydraulic drawings and technical documentation
  • Ensure all work is executed in line with safety and quality procedures
  • Take ownership of safe and efficient execution of work on-site and offshore

What you already have

  • MBO degree or equivalent in a technical discipline
  • At least 2 years of experience with hydraulic systems, hoses, and fittings
  • Experience in offshore, shipbuilding, or heavy machinery is a strong advantage
  • Ability to read and work with hydraulic drawings and schematics
  • Familiarity with classification standards and safety regulations
  • Hands-on, structured, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Good command of English and Dutch (written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel and work offshore (approx. 15 weeks per year)
  • Experience with MS Office and ERP systems is a plus
