Your opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated HSE Officer to champion health, safety, and environmental standards within the organization. In this role, you will develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and systems while fostering a strong safety culture. You’ll ensure compliance across all operations, supporting staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and visitors in maintaining a safe working environment.

What you will do

  • Developing, applying, and maintaining HSE policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Promoting a proactive health and safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders on HSE matters to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Conducting audits and risk assessments, and implementing effective mitigation measures.
  • Advising management on HSE-related issues to meet legal and contractual requirements.
  • Overseeing improvement programs and managing registers of health, environmental aspects, and hazardous substances.
  • Investigating incidents, maintaining detailed records, and reporting findings to stakeholders.
  • Delivering training sessions and updates on best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Mentoring and supporting HSE Assistants in their professional development.

What you already have

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in HSE management, including system development and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate HSE projects and deliver effective training programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE principles, systems, and industry best practices.
  • A Hogere Veiligheidskunde (HVK) diploma is highly desirable.
  • Available for full-time work in the Netherlands
  • EU citizenship is a must, due to the nature of the military projects.
