Your opportunity

As a FEM Specialist, you will work in a high-quality technical area at the core of the engineering process. Your main task will be to optimize the strength of the construction of the mega yacht projects. You will be responsible for the modeling, analysis, and calculations of the complete ship constructions. Next to that, you will work on various projects at the same time and support structural developments within the team, and other departments. 

What you will do

  • Preparing models, calculations, and analysis of complex shipbuilding structures (longitudinal strength, stiffens, etc.)
  • Modeling, calculation, and analysis of local structures (integration of equipment, windows, superstructures, etc.)
  • Processing the models and results from your calculations into final reports, including progress and technical issues
  • Collaborating with other colleagues from the FEM department
  • Communicating on a daily basis with other departments that are involved in the project (mechanical, interior, exterior, structural, and naval architecture)

What you already have

  • +2 years of experience in the theoretical and practical approach to FEM calculation and analysis within yacht or shipbuilding experience
  • BSc. or MSc. in Naval Architecture or Naval Engineering
  • A proactive and independent approach, since you will be involved in projects from start to finish
  • Excellent knowledge of FEM calculation and structural analysis
  • Passion for technology is a big asset 
  • Good working knowledge of 3D software and Femap and/or Ansys
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multi-cultural team and clients
