Your opportunity

We are seeking an Expeditor for a project-based position (1 year). As an Expeditor, you will play a vital role in ensuring that materials, equipment, and documentation move smoothly through the procurement and project execution process. You will be part of a dynamic Contracts & Procurement team — a group that acts as a strategic partner to the business rather than a supporting function. Your work will directly contribute to the success of complex offshore projects by safeguarding timely deliveries and proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders.

This role is a great fit for a communicative, hands-on professional who enjoys coordinating with suppliers, solving logistical challenges, and keeping projects on track.

What you will do

  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials and equipment are delivered in line with Purchase Order requirements
  • Monitor project schedules and identify any risks of delay, taking corrective action where needed
  • Participate in supplier kick-off meetings to align expectations, technical requirements, and timelines
  • Participate in pre-award or bid clarification meetings with suppliers
  • Expedite orders through both desk-based and field activities to maintain project progress
  • Follow up on supplier documentation, ensuring timely submission and review
  • Communicate regularly with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and procurement colleagues
  • Flag deviations or issues in Purchase Order execution and collaborate with stakeholders to find solutions
  • Support document and workflow management throughout the procurement cycle

Where you will work

With this trusted client in the Amsterdam area, we have a long-lasting relationship. It is a privately owned company that delivers floating energy solutions and complex mooring equipment to the global oil & gas and renewables industries. Besides having proven capabilities in engineering and developing installations for harsh offshore conditions, they own and operate their own fleet of FPSOs. A welcoming organization in which people with the right pro-active attitude will get opportunities to proof themselves and grow.

  • Challenging engineering environment, particularly in developing equipment for extreme offshore conditions
  •  Organization with cooperative mind-set and open communication style, which allows for professional progress
  • Drive for new technologies in floating sustainable energy solutions
  • For the size of the projects, a relatively small multi-disciplinary engineering team, with a focus on conceptual and basic design
  • Combining in one close-knit company: EPCI contractor and offshore fleet-owner-operator

What you already have

  • +10 years of experience as an Expeditor within EPC oil & gas projects, offshore or complex engineering environments
  • Knowledge of INCOTERMS and familiarity with project planning processes
  • Experience with document control systems and workflow management tools
  • Great communication in English and social skills, to be able to build strong relationships
  • Experience coordinating across multiple project disciplines.

Your benefits

  • Contract duration: estimated 1 year
  • Start in January 2026
  • 30 paid holidays per year for an excellent work-life balance
  • Covered commuting and interviewing costs
  • Business Travel Insurance
  • Basic Dutch course, so you will understand the Dutch jokes during the coffee break
  • Access to social gatherings, lectures, and events, so you will meet like-minded friends within the Dutch Maritime Industry. We also offer you a 1-year membership of KNVTS, Royal Dutch Association of Marine Engineers.
  • Housing search support and registration are provided by Van Storm
