Your opportunity

As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will contribute to the design, integration, and validation of complex electrical and automation systems for world-class superyachts. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team ensuring flawless system performance — from initial design through to final sea trials.

In this role, you will work on power distribution, automation, lighting, entertainment, and navigation/communication systems, collaborating closely with design, engineering, and production departments. It’s a chance to apply your technical expertise in a high-end shipbuilding environment where innovation, craftsmanship, and precision come together.

What you will do

  • Design and integrate electrical and automation systems for superyacht projects, covering power distribution, lighting, entertainment, and NAVCOM
  • Develop and maintain detailed electrical documentation, including cable lists, connection diagrams, 2D CAD drawings, and bills of materials
  • Ensure all designs comply with marine safety and classification standards (DNV, Lloyd’s, SOLAS)
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure smooth integration and system compatibility
  • Support testing activities such as Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Harbor Acceptance Tests (HAT), and Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues related to I/O configuration, data protocols, and system interfaces
  • Contribute to process improvement and innovation in electrical design and automation within the department

What you already have

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • +3 years of experience in electrical engineering in the shipbuilding/offshore industry
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components used in shipbuilding
  • Experience with electrical system design and implementation in shipbuilding
  • Skilled in using EPLAN, AutoCAD, Cadmatic, and PLM Teamcenter
  • Knowledge of both DC and AC marine electrical systems and relevant international standards
  • Available for full-time Amsterdam or Leiden area
