This challenging opportunity for Electrical Power Systems Engineer will give you an excellent opportunity to join the projects from the initial stage of the design. You will perform the design proposals and calculations within the Electrical Power Systems department, with a clear focus on Electrical Propulsion systems. Together with other engineers from your team, you will be contributing to the complete engineering process. 

What you will do

  • Developing the specification documents, functional descriptions, drawings, and test/validation plans
  • Applying your experience in the design of Propulsion Control and Power Management systems
  • Working closely with the Propulsion System Integration team
  • Combining technical knowledge with a practical approach
  • Using your knowledge about EMC regulations and compliance precautions
  • Performing the engineering activities according to the quality and budget plan
  • Maintaining communication with external suppliers and subcontractors

What you already have

  • +3 years of experience in the design and installation of complex Electrical Power systems (experience with Electrical Propulsion is a big plus!)
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical installations and drive systems, preferably in shipbuilding, offshore or industrial sectors
  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or similar
  • Good working knowledge of EMC regulations and compliance precautions
  • Good theoretical & practical knowledge of class and flag rules & regulations
  • Excellent communication and people skills, since you will be communicating with other internal departments, as well as external stakeholders
  • A practical and customer-oriented approach, since you will be involved in communication with clients and class societies
  • Ability to work in a highly complex technical environment, so expect to be positively challenged
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multi-cultural team. A good level of German is highly appreciated!
  • Available for full-time in the Rotterdam area
  • EU citizenship is a must, due to the nature of the military projects
