Your opportunity

Do you want to lead a path to a sustainable future within the floating wind sector? Are you an innovative and creative engineer, who possesses in-depth analytical and problem-solving skills in aerodynamics, hydrodynamics and structures? Then this is a great opportunity for you! In this role, you will act as the technology specialist of a new product line within a renowned provider of floating energy solutions and complex mooring equipment. Together with the Technology Manager, you will drive the development of floating wind concepts into working proposals, demonstrating their feasibility through integrated load analysis. 

What you will do

  • Deliver multi-disciplinary concept design and engineering for client proposals and product development in close cooperation with knowledgeable colleagues
  • Liaise with external parties like clients, authorities and verification bodies for timely approval of designs and technology, as well as protection of the company’s intellectual property and patents in the field of floating wind solutions
  • Propose and develop innovative concepts and maintain standards, templates and tools to drive innovation, secure quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Perform a range of analysis and simulations to achieve accepted concepts, while you will also be involved in the future realization phases of projects, overseeing the construction and/or offshore installation

It is a privately owned company that delivers floating energy solutions and complex mooring equipment to the global oil & gas and renewables industries. Besides having proven capabilities in engineering and developing installations for harsh offshore conditions, they own and operate their own fleet of FPSOs.   • Challenging engineering environment, particularly in developing equipment for extreme offshore conditions

What you already have

  • +10 years of experience in offshore wind development projects
  • A Msc. degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical of Aerospace Engineering
  • An analytical and solution-finding approach, since you will be the one solving multi-disciplinary engineering puzzles
  • A convincing and communicative attitude, as you can only be successful in this role if you get all parties involved aligned with your solutions
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multicultural team, authorities and clients worldwide
  • Available for full-time work in the Amsterdam area, and willing to travel occasionally to yards, suppliers and clients
  • Passion for driving renewable technological solutions is key
