Your opportunity

As Coordinator Technical Maintenance & Repair, you will play a crucial role in keeping a fleet of high-end river cruise vessels operational, safe, and reliable. Acting as the link between the crew and management on the vessels, suppliers, and the shore-based technical team, you will coordinate maintenance and repair activities while minimizing disruption to cruise operations and the guest experience.

In this role, you will support the Manager Technical Maintenance & Repair and work closely with nautical, hotel, finance, and administration departments. Your hands-on coordination skills, technical insight, and clear communication will ensure that issues are addressed efficiently and professionally.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys operational responsibility, international collaboration, and working close with the crew and management of the vessels.

What you will do

  • Coordinate daily technical maintenance and repair activities across the fleet.
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors for onboard repairs, maintenance, and component replacement throughout Europe.
  • Ensure repairs are executed as quickly as possible with minimal impact on cruise operations.
  • Manage technical spare parts and stores, processing orders and maintaining adequate stock levels.
  • Cooperate closely with nautical, hotel, finance, and administration departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate technical failures impacting safety, operations, or guest experience clearly and promptly to management.
  • Provide professional and service-oriented support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel regularly to vessels to support and oversee technical activities.

What you already have

  • Technical education and relevant practical experience in a maritime or marine environment.
  • Understanding of key ship systems and technical components.
  • Experience working in small to mid-sized organizations in an international setting.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Comfortable working with specialized software and Office 365 tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong command of English and German; Dutch and/or French is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and occasionally on short notice.
  • A proactive, service-oriented, and solution-driven mindset.
  • Role based in Switzerland with frequent interaction with ships throughout Europe.
