Your opportunity

As a CFD Specialist Yacht Building, you will play a crucial role in developing world-class superyacht designs. You will support the naval architects with complex CFD analysis and simulations to optimize designs and present solutions for critical problems. You will contribute and perform the implementation of CFD working methods in the naval department and create awareness of the various applications that CFD has to offer within the shipbuilding process. 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to coordinate the CFD scope of work within different and simultaneous projects and assist more junior engineers. Your main tasks will be to prepare a realistic schedule, set priorities, and have an overview of the project's status. 

What you will do

  • Being the go-to person within the CDF discipline
  • Performing resistance simulation, appendage and trim wig optimization, and wakefield analysis and optimization (for propeller design)
  • Executing hull-form optimization
  • Preparing simulations and analysis of the propeller, wind climate, and exhaust gases
  • Analyzing the helicopter landing and pool sloshing
  • Communicating and cooperating with other technical departments about the status and updates concerning the projects

What you already have

  • +5 years of experience with CFD analysis and simulations within the maritime sector
  • BSc. or MSc. in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering
  • A proactive and independent approach, since you will be involved in projects from start to finish
  • Analytical thinking style & proactive attitude, so you can observe, propose, and realize innovative solutions based on sound knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of rules & regulations for super yachts +80m
  • Passion for yacht building is a big asset 
  • Good working knowledge of STAR CCM+, Python, and Java
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multi-cultural team and clients
