Your opportunity
In your role as an AV/IT Design Engineer, you will translate technical information into clear and accurate 2D drawings, wiring diagrams, rack layouts and other technical documentation for high-end superyacht projects.
Working closely with Sales Engineers, System Engineers and technical specialists, you will make sure that the right components are shown in the right locations and that systems and connections are clearly documented. Your designs will provide the practical foundation that specialists and onboard installation teams use to install the complete technical infrastructure.
You will work on a variety of integrated AV/IT systems, from audio, video and entertainment to networks, communications and lighting. Every yacht and every space brings different technical challenges, giving you plenty of opportunities to develop your knowledge and work with advanced technology.
What you will do

Creating clear and accurate 2D technical drawings, wiring diagrams, rack layouts and technical documentation

Translating technical information and system requirements into practical designs for onboard installation

Designing AV/IT solutions for audio and video systems, cinema and entertainment spaces, LED and display systems, networks, IT infrastructure, broadcast, communications and lighting systems

Working mainly with Microsoft Visio to create technical drawings for individual spaces and systems

Making sure components, connections and technical information are correctly represented in the drawings

Reviewing technical information and identifying missing, unclear or technically incorrect details

Working closely with Sales Engineers, System Engineers, Designers and other technical specialists

Supporting the preparation of technical designs that are ready for implementation onboard

Taking responsibility for the accuracy and quality of your drawings while continuously developing your technical knowledge

What you already have

Experience as a CAD Engineer, System Engineer, Technical Designer, Electrical Draftsperson or in a similar technical role

Experience with technical drawing or engineering software such as Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, Revit, EPLAN or similar

An interest in or experience with AV, IT, electrical engineering, electronics, home automation or systems integration

The ability to translate technical information into clear and accurate drawings and technical documentation

Technical insight and a structured, analytical approach to your work

Strong attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of accurate technical documentation

A proactive attitude and the confidence to ask questions when technical information is incomplete or unclear

The ability to work effectively with colleagues from different technical disciplines

Good communication skills in English

Experience within AV, IT, yacht building, shipbuilding, home automation or electrical engineering is an advantage
