Your opportunity

As an Automation Engineer, you will be working on the newest technologies of the naval division of a world-leading Dutch shipbuilding group. You will be working on a broad variety of tasks in the field of Automation and will be involved from the very first, proposal phase of the project to perform design proposals and calculations. During the execution of the project, you will work in a team of several engineers in order to deliver the requested engineering documents. You will implement deep technical and practical knowledge into solid and innovative designs.

What you will do

  • Developing the design, specification, functional descriptions, schematic drawings
  • Performing required technical calculations to prove the design
  • Participating in design checks and reviews to guarantee the required quality
  • Performing cost analysis on received offers
  • Ensuring compliance with all requirements by class and the customer
  • Managing vendors and subcontractors
  • Developing standardization and integration
  • Preparing and submitting proposals to customers
  • Supporting the project teams with your technical advice regarding automation solutions in various project phases, such as engineering, production, and commissioning

What you already have

  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Computer Engineering, Technical Automation, Electrical Engineering or another relevant discipline
  • +3 years of experience in the design and installation of complex automation systems, preferably ships, offshore or industrial installations
  • Ability to work in a highly complex technical environment, so expect to be positively challenged
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, so you can communicate efficiently with your multi-cultural team. Willingness to learn Dutch is much appreciated
  • Available in Rotterdam Area
  • EU citizenship is a must, due to the nature of the military projects
